I was visiting my brother who studies at Cambridge university and we went out for dinner here. We ordered the menu option that allows you to try several starters and the main meat dishes with the most amazing basmati rice I've tried in 2 decades. The food was incredible. From an appearance perspective it is nothing showy (not that I care at all), but from a taste perspective it was phenomenal. It felt like I was eating at home. The food was healthy (lots of vegetables), good quality ingredients, and they only used sauces in a moderate amount so you could actually enjoy the true flavour of the food. The food was not greasy and the meats were cooked very well. Lastly I was quite happy that after a lovely large meal they gave a selection of cut fruit and a small turkish dessert. I felt like I ate at home in this restaurant. The level was service was great. I was surprised by how quickly the food came. The people were also nice and friendly. I will definitely come again.

A brilliant meal at Efes last night! We popped in on a Sunday and it was packed, which is always a great sign. We started with the hummus, which was beautifully smooth and delicious. For our mains, my friend had the chicken kebab and I went for the anteb kebab, and both were spot on, really well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The staff were lovely and the service was efficient despite how busy it was. We’ll definitely be going back soon!
The food was fresh, beautifully prepared and delicious! The staff is absolutely wonderful and are really joyous! The owner takes the time to come and spend time and talk with you and to show you around. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!
Overall a great dinner experience and would recommend. Came as a group of 3 and we all opted in to the “Set Menu” option because we wanted to try a lot of different items. You get the special mezze and hot mezze as starters, mixed kebab for main, baklava and fruits and tea for dessert. Great way to see what you like or don’t like. Our group’s favorites from the special mezze were the aubergine saute, cacik, spinach tarator, and stuffed vine leaves. The hot mezze of cheese borek and ox liver was delicious. From the mixed kebab, everyone’s favorite was the kofte kebab! Really great to see all the kebabs grilled right in front of you. Would come back for the kofte kebab alone.
